This is a great spring craft for the classroom as it’s a low prep one, and the puppets come with simple instructions printed on the sheets.
Why make only the bee, when the ladybug and the butterfly can join in the fun!
How to Assemble the Build a Bee Puppet Template
What you need:
- our printable template (comes with three bugs)
- scissors
- glue
- coloring supplies
Step by Step Tutorial
Print out and color the sheets (black and white version), or use a pre-colored template.
Have kids follow the dashed lines and create sharp, precise creases.
Have them grab those corners and bring them together to fold the bee puppet card in half.
The base card is almost ready.
Have kids apply glue to the base card’s flaps (marked with “glue”).
Then close the card gently and have the kids press it down, letting the glue settle in place.
Have them cut out the bee parts.
The stinger, two wings, and two eyes are ready.
Kids can color the bee’s wings with markers or other coloring supplies.
Have them glue on the eyes first.
Then, have them glue the wings – to the back of the card.
Next, have them add some glue to the stinger, slide it inside the card, and glue it so it peeks out.
All done!
It’s showtime!
Your bee puppet is ready for action! Kids can slip their hands inside and let the fun begin.
