If you are getting ready for a 4th of July celebration and want to make a few 4th of July themed crafts with your kids, this windsock craft is a win-win.

It’s a fun project for kids to make and it’s a pretty decoration as well. A few of these dancing in the air is a wonderful sight.

How to Make 4th Of July Windsock Toilet Paper Roll Craft

What you need:

• toilet paper roll
• blue paint
• paint brush
• scissors
• white and red tissue paper
• white paper
• star paper punch or white paint
• yarn
• hole puncher

Step by Step Tutorial

Start by painting the toilet paper blue. Let the paint dry completely before you work with it more.

While you wait for the paint to dry, you can go ahead and either cut the tissue paper or punch the stars out of paper.

Once the paint has dried, make two holes on one side of the paper roll (one across the other). Single hole paper punch is the best tool for this job.

String the yarn through both holes.

Tie it up.

Punch star shapes out of white paper. If you don’t have a star shaped punch you can also paint the stars (this how to draw a star tutorial might be useful).

Apply a small amount of glue on a star and press it on the paper roll.

Repeat until your toilet paper roll is filled with stars.

Cut long strips of white and red tissue paper.

Apply glue on one end of the tissue paper strip and press it inside the toilet paper roll.

Change between white and red color until you complete the circle.
