We love crafting everything related to Valentine-themed projects (check out the Valentine’s Day Heart Fingerprint Tree Craft or Handprint Heart Craft) and make some more crafts.
The first one we are going to show you is this small and cute Valentine whale. We hope you will join us crafting and we hope you will love this pink whale as much as we do.
It has a pink heart on the top of the head and the head can spin around and that means having so much fun playing with it.
How to Make 3D Valentines Day Paper Whale Craft
What you need:
- dark pink cardstock
- light pink cardstock
- white cardstock
- circle puncher
- ruler with circle shapes
- black liner
- split pin
- circle object
- scissors
- glue
Let’s start!
Step by Step Tutorial
The Base
Trace the circle object on the light pink cardstock.
Cut out the circle object using scissors.
The Whale
Draw a circle (the size of this circle should be the same as the size of the punched circle later).
Draw two fins and a tail.
Cut out this whale shape using scissors.
Glue the whale shape in the center of the light pink circle.
Punch out one dark pink circle.
Attach this circle to the body shape using a split pin.
Split the pin on the backside of the light pink circle so the circles stay in place.
The 3D Body
Cut out four dark pink stripes.
Fold their ends.
Glue the first dark pink stripe on the dark pink circle.
Add the second dark pink stripe. The stripes should form an X shape.
Glue them on the top also, so they do not move.
Add the remaining two stripes. This 3D shape is the whale’s body.
The Comb
Cut out one small light pink stripe.
Fold it as you see in this picture – we call this a door shape.
Glue the door shape on top of the whale’s body.
Cut out a wider light pink strip then form a comb shape using the scissors.
Glue this comb shape to the door shape as shown in the picture.
Wrap the comb shape around the door shape and seal with glue at the end.
Cut one more stripe out of the light pink cardstock.
Fold one end of this strip.
Place this strip on top of the whale’s body.
Draw, cut out, then glue a small dark pink heart on top of this last stripe.
The Mouth and Eyes
Take the black liner and draw a tiny circular mouth.
On the white cardstock draw two small circle eyes.
Cut the eyes out and glue them on the whale’s head.
This octopus is adorable!
Your 3D Valentine’s Day paper whale craft is done!
Happy V-Day!
