3D Turtles Paper Craft

This is a fun little summer craft to do either at home or at summer camp.

The turtle shells can be all kinds of colors, the more colorful the better the end craft will look.

How to Make the 3D Turtles Paper Craft

What you need:

• printable template
• scissors
• glue
• coloring supplies

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Print out the template for the 3D turtle paper craft.

If you are using the black and white one, have the kids color it in first.

Markers or crayons are perfect; if using markers we do recommend you use cardstock to avoid the paper wrinkling up.

Don’t forget to color the frame too.

You can leave the template as is or you can cut it out along the frame.

You can have the kids color the circles for the turtle shells however this is a tedious task. We recommend you print the circles on colored paper instead.

You can make all the shells the same color or you can print them out on various colored paper.

Regular paper or construction paper both work well for the circles.

You will need at least three circles per turtle, but you can also use more.

Fold each circle in half along, creating a semi-circle shape.

Apply glue along one half of one folded circle and glue another folded circle onto it.

Repeat the process with the third one. This will make a little turtle shell dome.

Repeat this process with the remaining circles in each color.

Once all the shells are assembled, have the kids carefully glue them onto the turtle’s backs on the template.
