How to Make Polar Animal Puppets
What you need:
- our printable template
- coloring supplies (optional)
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Start by printing your polar animal puppet templates and have kids get creative with colors – just like the vibrant northern lights!
Carefully cut out the parts.
Prepare the penguin and finger straps.
Have kids find the dotted lines on the two paper finger straps and make neat folds.
Have them fold the puppet into shape by folding the top of the animal’s head.
Next, fold the bottom.
Finally, fold the middle part (inner mouth) to close the beak.
See how the mouth is folded inward.
Have kids apply glue to the marked spots, then stick the straps to the puppet’s back (to the upper area of the mouth).
Repeat with the second strap. Have the kids glue it to the bottom part of the mouth (to the back of the puppet).
Press gently and let the glue set.
Kids can insert their fingers inside the straps to check how the puppet opens and closes.
