These portraits will help turn your house into a spooky mansion. Hang them on a wall and watch the eyes follow you wherever you go. It’s true Halloween crafty magic.

How to Make Moving Eyes Portraits Halloween Craft

What you need:

• template
• paper
• scissors
• glue
• optional coloring supplies

Step by Step Tutorial

Print out the template. For one portrait you will need one box template.

…and one Halloween monster portrait.

If your kids are making the black and white portraits, have them color it in before assembling the craft.

Cut out the monster picture (cut along the outer line).

Cut out the circles in place of eyes. Punch a small hole in the middle of each circle and work your way out with the scissors.

Cut out the box template.

Also cut out the two circles marked on the template, just like you did on the ones on the monster image.

Make folds along the black dashed lines.

Make the folds nice and crisp, this will make assembling the box easier.

Assemble the box. The two black dots should be on the inside of the box.

Apply glue inside the areas with the word glue on them.

Assemble the box.

Let the glue set before you continue to the last step of this project.

Last thing to do is to stick the monster portrait on the box.

Apply glue on the back of the portrait (or on top of the box).

Stick the portrait on the box, making sure you align the holes on the box and on the portrait.

All done! You have completed your moving eyes portraits Halloween craft. Move it left and right and up and down and watch the eyes move.
