It’s a quick, low-prep project that you can do at home or in the classroom, and it makes for the most wonderful Valentine’s Day bulletin board display.

How to Make the Heart Hair Portraits Valentine Craft for Kids
What you need:
- our printable template
- coloring supplies
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Print out the templates on print paper, construction paper, or cardstock. There are many templates to choose from, some with blank faces where kids can draw their own, and some with faces already drawn (the same goes for hearts). The portraits also come with the pun written on them.
Color in the template. You can also have the kids cut out the portrait and glue it onto colored cardstock.
Have the kids cut out the hearts. One sheet is enough to make the hair for one portrait, but you can have the kids use more as well.
Have the kids glue the hearts on top of the head, slowly making the love-full hairstyle.
And that’s it. Easy peasy!
You can have the kids draw patterns on the hearts (or use the printable with the patterns inside the hearts already).
You can have the kids use colors that are Valentine’s day themed (reds, pinks, purples) or go with any other color they like.
