With both a pre-colored and black and white version for kids to color, this craft is great for all occasions.
It’s a wonderful project for the classroom as it’s a “one page” template with no prep for the activity.
How to Make an Easter Egg Paper Toy
What you need:
- our printable Easter paper toy template
- coloring supplies if you printed the black and white version
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Instructions
Print out the template on cardstock. If using crayons or coloring pencils, regular print paper will work pretty well too, with markers it might wrinkle a bit as they bleed through the paper.
Color the designs.
Cut them out.
Looking fun aren’t they?
Fold them in half (there’s a dashed line on the designs there to help the kids). The design has to be on the inside.
Take one of the folded eggs, we took the Easter egg design, and apply glue on one side (on the outside).
Take another design, in our case it’s the chick…
And stick it on top of the first one. Ideally you want to switch between a character design and an egg design.
Fold the chick (or whichever design you choose) shut, and apply glue.
Glue on the next design and continue all the way to the end.
When you used up all of the eggs, apply glue on one of the open ends (without design)….
And stick it to the other open end.
All done!
Now flip the pages to uncover all the fun.
The first few “circles” will be a bit harder…
…but once the paper loosens up a bit things will flip smoothly.
Your kids will be having so much fun flipping the pages.
