It’s time to share the love, and what better way to do it than with our adorable 3D heart animals cards? We love the simplicity of this project; it’s practically no prep, and the craft itself is great for any occasion.
Brighten a mom’s day on Mother’s Day, have students give these cards to their secret Valentines, or just make them for any other occasion when you want to do a heartfelt project with your kids.

Aren’t these just the sweetest? There are 10 different animal designs, and each of them has a paper heart that pops out.
You can give them out as they are, or you can press down the heart and fit them inside an envelope.
How to Make the 3D Heart Animals Cards
What you need:
- printable cards (10 different animals with hearts in the set)
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- coloring supplies (optional)
- color paper (optional for printing on the hearts)
Step by Step Tutorial
Pick the cards your little ones want to create and print them out. You can use regular print paper but we do recommend heavier paper or cardstock for the cards. The hearts can be printed on regular print paper.
Let’s make a 3D heart bunny card together! Don’t worry; all the cards are made the same way.
Snip-snip along the lines to cut out the card!
You can leave the card as it is (it looks pretty great in black and white) or you can have the kids color it in.
Print the hearts on colorful paper, or let the kids get artsy and color them in themselves!
Cut out the heart shapes.
Have children fold each heart in half vertically.
Apply glue to each half of the heart.
Once the glue is applied, it’s time to bring those hearts together!
Have kids carefully stick the halves together, one on top of the other.
Then, continue gluing the heart halves until you run out.
We made a dazzling 3D heart!
Finally, let’s complete the masterpiece!
Have the kids glue the 3D heart shape onto the card.
All done!
