Spring is here, and this butterfly and flower hair portrait craft is a fun way to welcome the season! Kids can design their own hairstyles using paper flowers in all kinds of shapes and colors.
This easy cut-and-paste activity works well in the classroom or at home. Just print the templates, color the flowers, cut them out, and glue them onto the portrait to build a one-of-a-kind floral hairstyle.

Butterfly and Flower Hair Portraits Craft
What you need:
- our printable butterfly and flower hair portrait templates
- coloring supplies (markers, crayons, or colored pencils)
- scissors
- glue stick
Step by Step Instructions
Print the templates.
Print the portrait page and the flower sheet. Choose between the portrait with a face or the blank one for drawing your own.

Color the flowers.
Use your coloring supplies to fill in the flowers. Try mixing different colors to make each one a little different.
Keep coloring.
Color as many flowers as you like. More flowers will give the hairstyle a fuller look.

Cut out the flowers.
Once everything is colored, carefully cut out all the flowers.

Start gluing the flowers.
Glue a few flowers around the top and sides of the head to shape the hairstyle.

Fill in the hair.
Keep adding flowers, layering them to build up the hairstyle. Mix different sizes and styles to make it more interesting.

Finish up.
Add any final details you like, such as coloring parts of the face or adding small touches.

Your flower hair portrait is complete!
