You will never go for a store bought again once you see how easy it is to make your own homemade peanut butter!

And it’s super tasty too!

I’m nuts for peanuts and peanut butter is something you can find in my kitchen most of the time (and peanuts)! I could eat it with the spoon and would probably finish a whole jar by myself without a problem. Just writing this makes me crave for it. Yum!

While I do love store bought ones and still buy it sometimes as stores nearby don’t sell unsalted peanuts (???) and to make my own butter I usually get the in-shell ones… Takes a while… That said let’s get to the recipe!

Here’s what you need

  • peanuts (who that’s it?)

Surprise, surprise the only ingredient you really need are peanuts!

Other than that you can spice it up with anything you want – like you can add salt if you used unsalted ones, cinnamon, honey, vanilla…)

Wondering which peanuts to use to make your homeamde peanut butter? It doesn’t matter – you can use in-shell ones (trust me you don’t want to unless there’s no other alternative as de-shelling them takes time), unsalted, salted (I don’t like those personally).

Once you’ve got your peanuts (de-shelled ones) put them in the bowl of a food processor along with any additions you want and process until smooth (unless you like crunchy). If you want a smooth texture with a few “crunchies” inside don’t process them all at the same time – once the main butter is all smooth add some peanuts and process shortly.

Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
