Heart Bee Craft

This heart bee craft is both a craft and a super cute Valentines day card kids can easily make.

You can make this craft to be “true to” bee’s colors or you can make it even more Valentinesy by changing the natural colors to reds, pinks and purples.

January and February are both great months to plan out your Valentines day crafts, as well as cute cards that students will either exchange or give to their parents.

Heart shaped animal crafts are easy and fun for kids to make, and if by any chance you are teaching a lesson on shapes, these crafts compliment that lesson perfectly.

In this tutorial we are going to show you how you can make an adorable heart bee craft / card, that’s made out almost entirely out of hearts.

How to Make a Heart Bee Craft

What you need

our printable template (optional)
yellow construction paper
black construction paper
light blue construction paper
black marker
scissors
glue
googly eyes (optional)

Alternatively you can also color in the template and you won’t need the color construction paper.

Step by Step Tutorial

Print out our template. You can also make the hearts yourself.

Cut out all the parts from the template.

Start by tracing the two joined hearts on yellow construction paper.

Also trace the single big heart on construction paper (for a small be you only need 1).

Also trace the two small hearts on yellow paper (younger kids can skip this step).

Trace the big single heart on light blue paper two times.

Trace the same big heart on the black construction paper two times.

Cut out all parts.

Fold the yellow paper – the two joined hearts” in half. This will be the card base, as well as the bee’s head.

Stick the black heart under the bee’s head, followed by one yellow heart and again black heart.

You could do more than 3, but we think 3 looks the sweetest.

We’ve got a nice looking bee body.

Stick two light blue hearts, one on each side of the body.

Draw a face (or add googly eyes).

Write in your message.

Older kids can also make the antennae.

All done!
