This Cotton Ball Snowman Craft makes the cutest little DIY Christmas card ever. It’s cute, it’s fluffy and it’s personal.

This project is great to make in the classroom, as a kid made card to give to parents.

You want to make the cutest card this year, a card that will bring joy to people? Well this snowman will never melt, but it’s bound to melt hearts. 

You can make it with cotton balls, or tissue paper. It can be decorated with the paper buttons, scarf and carrot nose that you can find on our template or you can use real buttons and other accessories.

How to Make a Cotton Ball Snowman Craft – DIY Christmas Card

What you need: 

• our printable template
• heavier print paper
• photo
• coloring supplies
• cotton balls or tissue paper (or just leave blank)
• glue
• scissors

Step by Step Tutorial

Print out our snowman card template and color in the buttons, the scarf and the nose.

Cut out the snowman template and accessories.

Also cut the photo. You can also have the kids draw a self portrait here.

Glue the photo in the designated area (stick glue is best as it won’t wrinkle the photo).

Fold along the dashed lines.

If you are working with large cotton balls, tear them into smaller parts.

Roll them between your hands to make “smaller cotton balls”.

Make quite a few. Alternatively you can also use tissue paper, rolled into small balls.

Apply glue on the card. We started by applying the glue around the photo.

Stick cotton balls on the card. Add glue as you go if needed.

Move to the body next.

Cover it with cotton balls.

Add details, apply glue on the scarf and stick it on the snowman.

Do the same with buttons.

You can stop here, or you can also add the carrot nose on the photo.

All done!

All that is left to do is to write a personalised message inside the card.

And give to family and friends.
