Pine Stamped Salt Dough Ornaments - Christmas Ornaments for Kids to Make

Aren’t they just something else? I could decorate the whole Christmas tree with these (and you can make them in many different colors!). Kids will love making them.

Pine Stamped Salt Dough Ornaments

Materials

Salt Dough (you can see the recipe we use here)
Silver Metallic Craft Paint
Paint Brushes
Pine Bough Pieces
Rolling Pin
Round cookie cutters
Wax Paper
Skewer (to make a hole)
Ornament hangers

Instructions
Flatten out dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
Lay the pine boughs over the dough, use the rolling pin to gently press them in to imprint.
Carefully lift the pine off of the dough.
Randomly place the cookie cutters (or a cup) onto the dough and cut out.

Making the Christmas Salt Dough Ornament
Place on wax paper and microwave for 15 seconds, repeat until dough has hardened, let cool
Paint the whole ornament with silver and let dry
Using a paint brush with as small of a tip as you can, lightly paint green onto the ornament following the lines of the pine boughs
Let dry, attach ornament hanger
Optional* You can use a spray acrylic to add shine!
